Scandinavia’s largest collection of barrows is found in the small woods called Blomeskobbel on the east-coast of Als.
In 1660 Duke Ernst Günther built a palace which he named in honour of his wife, Auguste of Lyksborg. The palace was later rebuilt as the attractive baroque establishment you can see today.
Here, you find Nordborg Castle, which was built in the middle of the 12th century.
Today, the castle functions as a continuation school and isn’t open to visitors, although it’s possible to go for a walk in the adjacent park.
